Dancers

DMUM is a phenomenal way to meet new friends and connect with existing friends! Dancers are placed on teams that will be matched with our wonderful DMUM families. Dancers get the opportunity to participate in fun events, interact with kids and families, and volunteer at rehabilitation therapies while having fun! Being a DMUM dancer is one of the coolest experiences at the University of Michigan. It should be on every student’s bucket list! The dancer experience will afford you the opportunity to bond with the friends you already have, forge new connections with other university students, volunteer in the broader Ann Arbor community at different therapies, and the ability to say you were part of the largest student organization at U-M.

There are a couple of different ways register to become a Dancer: Assorted Dancer Teams, Student Organization Teams, and Fraternity & Sorority Teams.

Note: No dancing experience is required or needed.

Assorted Dancers

Assorted Dancers are individuals who want to register as an independent dancer and will be placed on teams alongside other Assorted Dancers. If you are registering with some friends, there are opportunities to be placed together onto an Assorted Dancer team as well! With your team, you will learn about our cause, communicate with families, prepare for our big events at monthly House Parties, and become close with your team at weekly team bonding events. Being an Assorted Dancer is a great way to form new relationships with individuals thing DMUM and at the University of Michigan.

Student Organization Teams

Student Organizations have the opportunity to register as dancers and make a team for their organization. Each organization will need to have a member register as the team Dancer Captain to create their team before having members register as dancers. Once the team is created, members will be able to register as dancers and select the Student Organization as their team when doing so.

Fraternity & Sorority Teams

Fraternities and Sorority members have the opportunity to form a team and have their members register as dancers for their team. Each Fraternity or Sorority will need to have a member register as the team Dancer Captain to create their team before having members register as dancers. Once the team is created, members will be able to register as dancers and select the Fraternity or Sorority as their team when doing so.
